Astrology is a predictive practice that uses its methods, claims, and findings to give people insights into different parts of their lives. Even though the world is changing, astrology continues to be interesting and comforting, convincing many to believe in it.
In simple terms, astrology looks at the positions of cosmic objects, mainly stars and planets, to understand their influence on people’s lives. While there are eight planets in the solar system, astrology considers nine planets, called Navagrahas, excluding Earth. These nine planets are the Sun (Surya), Moon (Chandra), Mars (Mangala), Mercury (Budha), Jupiter (Brihaspati), Venus (Shukra), Saturn (Shani), Rahu (the north node of the moon), and Ketu (the south node of the moon).
Some of these planets are thought to bring positive energy, while others like Rahu and Ketu are seen as having negative influences. However, Ketu’s presence in a horoscope isn’t always bad, and Jupiter’s presence isn’t always good. The impact depends on which houses these planets are in.
Astrologers talk about twelve houses in a Kundli (horoscope), with each house representing different parts of life. For example, the first house, known as the ascendant, shows a person’s personality and physical traits. The fifth house, called Putra Bhava, represents creativity, joy, pleasure, and romance. A favorable planet like Jupiter in the fifth house can improve one’s love life, while Rahu’s presence might suggest the need for astrological advice to overcome challenges.
